Official Beat the Grandma Handicap Time Standards

Your age and your gender will determine your starting time "head start" that you will get. THESE TIMES WILL GET RECALIBRATED EACH YEAR AFTER THE PREVIOUS YEAR'S RACE RESULTS BASED ON THE TOP RUNNERS SO THAT RACERS IN ALL AGE GROUPS HAVE AN EQUAL CHANCE OF WINNING...OPEN MEN...WELL...YEAH RIGHT...DREAM ON.

GRANDMA TIME STANDARDS:

 These will be the head start handicap times that will be used for Beat the Grandma 5K...runners will start off in decending order with the largest handicap award going first down to the person with the least amount of handicap time, then when the clock hits zero...the open men ages 15-34 will go. The clock will then start counting up and the first fifty runners to cross the finish line will be awarded the coveted "Beat the Grandma" custom made medals. The first runner leaves the starting line at 9 a.m. Good Luck Runners and I hope that you Beat the Grandma!

Male standards are as follows:Open Men ages 15 to 34 get no handicap, 0 to 9 years old gets 10 minutes; 10 to 14 = 5 minutes; 35-39= 1 min, 40-45=2:00, 46-49= 3:00,50-55= 4:00, 55-59= 5:00, 60-65= 6:00, 66-69= 8:00, 70-75=10:00, 76-79=12:00, 80-89= 15:00, 90+= 25:00

Female standards are as follows: Women 0-9=11 minutes; 10-14= 7:00, 15-29= 6:00 , 30-35=8:00; 36-39= 9:00 minutes,40-45=10:00, 46-49=11:00, 50-55= 12:00, 56-59=13:00, 60-65= 14:00, 66-69= 16:00, 70-75= 18:00; 75-79=20:00; 80+= 25:00

 

The first runner of the starting line is the runner with the biggest handicap time.

Awards will be awarded to the top 30 runners who cross the finish line. Awards will be given out as you pass through the finish line chute so that you don't have to wait around for your award.
